Caelum and his peers feeding back to
an audience of headteachers and academics

Towards the end of January, iNet ran its termly meeting. There was one difference to this teachers’ meeting... students went too!

In a new initiative created to encourage student voice, young people are being invited to network across Wales in order to improve learning and teaching.

Caelum Davies, one of the founder members of SALT (Student Action for Learning and Teaching), a student voice group who carry out research and observations in the school to give a student perspective on how to improve learning, represented Barry Comprehensive for the occasion.

Caelum worked with a large group of students to decide on ground rules for the group’s work and to agree on the aims of the iNet student group. Caelum and his peers then had the job of feeding back to an audience of headteachers and academics.

The general consensus was that the professionals should leave it to the experts: the students!
