Samba Time

Barry Comprehensive School’s Music Department certainly started off with a bang this year as classes played Samba music for the first time. A full set of Samba drums had been recently purchased by the school and with the support of staff from the Cardiff & Vale Music Service, the boys were put through their paces under the watchful eye of Mr Bourton, Head of Music.

Over 150 boys have already taken advantage of the School’s policy to offer free peripatetic music lessons in guitar, drums, samba, clarinet, bass, African and Indian drums, percussion, woodwind, cello, double bass, piano and, violin and voice. We expect to see a large number of these talented pupils contributing to the music and drama evenings in the future.
