Barry Comprehensive School’s Year 11 BTEC Sports students took part in the National VQ Day in Cardiff this summer; an event which highlights the importance of vocational qualifications.

The students gave attendees something dynamic and energetic to enjoy - a dance and fitness display on the steps of the Senedd, home of the Welsh Assembly.

The team had just three weeks between being invited to take part and VQ Day itself, so it was action stations for everyone to choreograph and rehearse the display. Working with VT Training, who help to deliver the Active Leisure Work based part of the qualification, the boys soon had their display perfected.

In a press release, VT Training praised the students for their participation and commented that their impressive energy throughout the activities ensured that the day was a success
